OPEN WATER
You will spend 2-4 days diving in the warm Caribbean Sea, experiencing all that the underwater world in Cozumel has to offer. We personalize your training to ensure you have the skills and experience required to earn your certification.
Materials, Books, Tanks, Transportation to Dive Sites, Site Fees, and Agency Certification Fees are all Included. We can offer you additional fun dives, boat excursions, tours, and adventure outings in addition to your Open Water course. Talk to an instructor.

THE COZUMEL OPEN WATER SCUBA COURSE
The Open Water Scuba Diver Course is the most popular diver program in the world—and your ticket to a lifetime of adventures. Without question, scuba divers are some of the most traveled and cultured people, often visiting scores of countries during their lifetime.
During your Open Water course with Cozumel Scuba School, you’ll learn scuba diving fundamentals, how assemble and use scuba equipment, and safe diving techniques. You'll also practice a variety of scuba skills in a warm and safe area near one of Cozumel's amazing reefs before experiencing at least four open water dives with one of our friendly and knowledgeable Scuba Instructors.
You can start Cozumel Scuba Schools Open Water course online right now. Once you sign up and pay your deposit, we will give you access to your training material. This is perfect for those who are planning a trip to Cozumel and would like to get a jump on their learning. The course is structured so you can progress according to your own individual ability. Once you arrive, you will get in the water and dive your very first day!

Pre-Work: Online Reading and Quizes
Day 1: Orientation and Confined Water
Day 2: Final Exam and Open Water
Day 3: Final Open Water Dives
Course completion is entirely based upon your performance—not on time. Any scheduled times suggested are approximate in nature. Most students are able to earn their Open Water certification in 3 days, while others may require 4 or more.
Students who require more pool or shore time beyond the allotted 3 days will incur an additional $50.00 USD fee per day. Students are expected to complete their online course material in a timely fashion so they can focus on in-water skills and dives.
OPEN WATER COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Complete required paperwork including releases and medical statement.
Pay your course fee.
Complete Academic Sections 1-3 and the final exam with a passing score of 80%. Note that much of your academics will be done online or via our app, which can be done before you arrive in Cozumel to dive with us.
Complete at least three confined water sessions and skill evaluations.
Complete the water fitness evaluation before participating in Open Water dives. You need not be a fish, but all divers must be able to swim and tread water.
Complete at least two open water training dives and the skills evaluation with your Cozumel Scuba School Open Water Instructor.
Once this has been done, you will be issued your Open Water Scuba Certification, and there's no waiting. We email it right to you, and it will show up in your App too! That means, you can go anywhere and dive right away.
